Cosmetology Instructor

Meet Cortiva Institute's newest Cosmetology Instructor, Master stylist Shalon McIver-Welch. Shalon has been in the industry for over 22 years and is experienced in several techniques, including Hair cutting, Hair coloring, Weaves, and her signature technique of working with natural hair to give it a relaxed look and feel without chemicals. Clients come to Shalon for a specialized experience with individualized tress management, Hair care, and product knowledge.

Shalon has taken classes with some of the greats in the industry, Matrix, Vidal Sassoon, Paul Mitchell, and Farouk, to name a few. Now, as a licensed Cosmetology Educator who has added esthetics to her platform since joining the Cortiva Institute Team and has become Dermalogica certified, she knows that in the beauty industry, continued education never stops. Her mission is to inspire a new breed of stylists who excel professionally and artistically in hair, skin, and all things beauty.
